Looks like I am going to head on down to the CR tonight... I think I will be leaving Lake Stevens at about 2am. Probably fish tomorrow and then Friday morning till around noon. Thinking about fishing out of the Longview... Any suggestions or thoughts of areas to bang? Also, for you people that fish during the week how are the crowds for midweek fishing??


Also, I may have an opened seat. I will know for sure in a couple hours. When the person who is 'supposed' to go calls and bails. So, if I am solo I will have a seat for Thursday and Friday. Let me know if you are interested.

Longview should be pretty good. You can go out of Willow grove, and the crowds should be OK during midweek. Busy, but OK.

I tend to fish higher in the river, out of Kalama. My favorite area is across and upriver from Longview. It's hard to miss, there will be 50 boats there. Join one of the lines, they'll all be OK this time of year.

I'll be down there tomorrow afternoon and friday. Had a killer day there sunday - 7 fish on, five to the boat for three rods.

One more Q for ya. If I do have to, how is it out there solo fishing? I do solo out in the sound quit a bit, due to my work schedule.
Should I stay away from the crowds or if I anchor up along/next to everyone else will this cause problems. Don't really want to cause a bunch of belly achin'.

Is this a situation that is pretty easy to figure out when I get down there??

Talked to a friend of mine down in Longview last night and they had three boats out yesterday at Kalama and hammered 'em!. His report was 5 keepers plus one Nate for 6 lines in the water and only fished the morning tide! Wish I could get there before the new restrictions hit on Sunday, but unfortunately can't make it this weekend.

From the sounds of things guys are putting the wood to the fish lately down there. I'm going down to Cathlamet tomorrow. A buddy of mine wants to show me a new spot. They got five yesterday and have been pounding em since last week. Heard from a guide friend fising above the cowlitz and he has put 21 fish in the box in the last 4 days. WOW.
