I was curious if anybody has info on how many of the puget sound/hood canal rivers/streams get Pink Salmon? What about rivers like the Hoh, Queets, Quinalt etc?

Thanks,
Twig

I've caught pinks on their way to the Hoodsport hatchery. Does anybody know if they enter the Dosewalips, Quilcene, Skokomish, Tahuya?

thanks again,
Twig

Not much in the way of pinks in the streams on the north coast. We'll see an oddball here and there, but we don't have the estuarine environment for rearing as these salmon migrate directly out upon hatching ...

Thank goodness wink

The puyallup gets pretty loaded as well. A lot of fun when the silvers aren't cooperating. Upper river is best.

I've had great luck infont of the Hoodsport Hatchery, the shore line around that area, and many points along the Hood Cannal. A small cataran or pontoon boat is great with a fly rod out infont of the Hoodsport Hatchery; you can get away from the lead slingers. Last time they came, the fish were here from the biggining of Augest to the end of the month. These small fighters are great fun on a fly rod! thumbs

Jay

P.S. I do the same for chums during November
