Just wondering if anyone has used the product Salt Away to flush their outboard motors and if so does it work?

It works well but it's expensive. Dawn, or probably any brand, dish washing liquid works and is much cheaper.

Its great stuff. I used it quite a bit last summer. You could see the difference after a few applications. I was told that it builds up a film after a few uses, and that seemed to be the case. I got a good deal on it at sportco. I also use about half the amount the applicator cup calls for and that seems to be more than enough. Do not use it on your reels though... after the 3rd consecutive year of having to send my calcutta in for repair, I was told NEVER rinse your reel in water. They dont drain well and rust. It claims in their pamphlet that you can use it on your gear... WD40 works better I'm told.

Thought i'd do a little test.
Get 5 slugs out the garden. Salt em down good like when i was a kid. Then pour salt away on 2 dawn on 2 and see which ones live.
I'll report back.
hold your breath. :p

Do you use bait for the slugs or artificial? What does the strike feel like? That would sure take some patience to catch five of them. After you brine them do you use Alder?
