I'm new to Seattle from Portland, can anyone give me some suggestions on a good river to go steelehead fishing tomorrow? Preferrably somewhere north of Seattle. I'm open to either flyfishing or tackle. I don't have a boat, so I need somewhere I can gain access on foot.

Info on: River, location (what stretch of the river), tips and tricks on tackle...etc would be much appreciated!

Thanks!
Dave

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Dave,

I think your prospects are kinda grim around the Seattle area. You're probably going to have to head south or west to try your luck. The Chehalis system is open until the 15th, and the Peninsula rivers are still putting out some decent fish.

Not too familiar with the Seattle area, but I don't think there's much open up there now.

Drop me an email if you need some more in-depth info.

Fish the Sauk. The access is good as the road runs along most of the river. Usual gear.
It's about 1.5 hours North and then East of Seattle.
