We all know the state has been forced to slice spending to the bone... I was at Five Mile Lake yesterday, and I noticed that they had taken down the lifeguard chairs and put up a big sign that says NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY. And I'm thinking that it's probably perminant, as they've never taken down the chairs before during the winter. Now, what does this have to do with fishing? Well, when the lifeguards were there, they kept the swimmers in the swimming area, and the anglers could fish in peace on another part of the dock while they were there. No more lifeguards, and now we'll have kids and idiots jumping in all over the place and disturbing the fishing.

And I know of at least 3 people who have drowned in this lake. Anything else you've noticed?
