I recently purchased a lamiglas 8'9" X89 MTC-T certified pro w/10-20lb. Great rod...specially for salmon season. My question is it has 15 eyes on it...I know that its a good thing, but why exactly? does this take tention from the rod and transfer it to the line?.....thanks help

More eyes = better casting control

I wondered the same thing. From what I've heard it's for overall weight balance and control. Those fuji guides are pretty smooth. I've got no complaints. That is by far my favorite rod... On the contrary, having extra eyes would be beneficial for sight fishing. Maybe Lamiglas should market a rod that can see as well. Then those extra eyes would be an outstanding bonus.

I have built a lot of fishing rods over the years and L T is correct. Particulary on casting rods. There have to be enough eyes so that when the rod is flexed fully the line dose not contact the blank. The eyes on a casting rod are on top so it takes more than a spinning rod to do this.

Hope this helps.
