So the esteemed coach of the University of Washington's storied footbal program has decided it is OK to bet on the NCAA basketball tournament.

Wow, UW being Washingtons premier institute of higher education, one might think that the coach would have access to the newspaper where he might read, if he is able, of the sad story of Pete Rose. Oh well, it looks like he is going to have plenty of time to adjust the knot in his sweater sleeves and read up on what happens when you break the rules on gambling.

Buck up, Huskies. Its not all bad news. I hear that the best college coach in Washington is available for hire. Since he decided to sow all his wild oats in one night in the middle of the bible belt before he had signed his employment contract with his new school, he obviously meets the intelligence requirements to coach in Washington.

It is going to be a very good year for OSU football.

Hey!!! Some of us Husky fans are also cross-over Beav fans.

My wife used to work for the university and two of the funnest games I went to were down there.

Both games the Beav's got stomped, but they did their best and kept their dignity. Erickson really turned things around for the Beav's since he's been there.

That second game I went to was the Civil War game. First time I ever saw a school mascot get arrested. The Duck mascot had a little beaver tied to a rope and was smashing it into the ground for every point the Ducks scored. One Beav fan took exception to that and he and the mascot got into a fight. I think by the time the police got the two of them separated, the fan had that rope wrapped around the mascot. Surprising thing was only the mascot got walked off in handcuffs.

From a cross-over Beav fan justice was served that day.

I don't like Gil as our interm coach, as he's already proved he can't handle the head coach position. Oh well, hopefully, he'll just be the interim coach until a new one is hired.


Maybe, but it's really going to be a great year for UW football. Regardless of who is coaching, it's tough to beat a seasoned team with a senior quaterback. The UW will be very tough to beat this year.

I think a good year for Beaver football is 6 wins. I don't think the UW would have much of a problem handling the Beavs again.
