I don't think there are as many loomis fans as there used to be. Their warranty has gone to hell in a hand basket. Look at St Croix or rainshadow.

I just got a 1082 s IMX just before the opener and I'm four for five on the summer runs and Ilove it, it will be great all around maybe a little light for chinooks but we dont hardly get to fish them around here anyways. Defintly worth the extra buck for the senstivity that you get with the IMX.

I agree with the others that say go with the Rainshadow. As far as quality and affordability they can't be beat. I would go with 1084 for an all around rod for steelhead and small salmon. It probally won't handle a large king but it could be done. As far as a float rod for the winter steelhead I would recomend an 1264 this is a 10'6" rod. For the summer fish I would go with an 1141 this is my favorite rod and actually would make a great humpy rod as well. It is light enough to provide for a good fight but has the back bone to turn a fish when needed. With all these rods I would go with the Rainshadow line of blanks. They are the same quality as a GL3 and about half the price. If you are interested in a Rainshadow let me know and I could build you one.

A good light spinning rod for humpies, silvers, and low water summer runs is like mentioned above is the 1082 IMX. Its expensive but well worth the pesos. I believe they are also coming out with a couple new float rods, might be somein to look into also. If your looking for a good drift rod for both summer and winter the STR1024 is a great rod at a decent price. Its a little on the lite side but ive never had a problem turning big fish...its rated 8-12lb. As far as warranty goes, i have found that Loomis does an outstanding job at replacing broken rods and doing upgrades. Just recently i'd sent in 2 broken rods and both were replaced for 30$ in just one week! You wont be disapointed with Loomis...

Humpy Rod- 9000 Silver Rod- 1084 Chum Rod- 1086 or 1025 Drift Fishing Winter Run- 1084 Float Fishing Winter Run- 1143 Drift Fishing Summer Run- 1084 Float Fishing Summer Run- 1143
This is what I would do... and I too would not spend the $$$$$ on a Loomis factory rod!

1143.....best all round rod for what you described. I would buy GL3 for durability or seriously consider a TH custom in Rainshadow.

Loomis needs to put the pipe their smoking down and get real with their pricing. They do build fine rods but are just far to proud of them when it comes to retail. Call TH and have some rainshadows priced and if you do go with rainshadow you will not be sorry!

Ok, this is what Parker would get...although Parker would never use a spinning rod to drift fish. But, if that's what you want......
Humpy Rod- 1082 Silver Rod- 1083 Chum Rod- 1143 Drift Fishing Winter Run- 1083 or 1143 Float Fishing Winter Run- 1143 Drift Fishing Summer Run- 1082 Float Fishing Summer Run- 1143
3 spinning rods should do the trick. 1082, 1083, and the 1143.
Depending how you like/dislike the 1082/1083, you could narrow that down to just two. Personally, I'd just use the 1083. Nice all-around rod that's not too beefy and not to whimpy. The 1143 will handle the float and bigger fish needs.
If it were me, I'd get the 1083 and the 1143 and call it good. Save some $$ and buy some drift rods for drift fishing:
1025 - Winter drift fishing 1084 - Summer drift fishing
I'll leave the brand up to you.
