A buddy of mine was fishing the lewis on saturday and ran into a real problem.. He came down to a drift and started to fish the topend (boondogging) while there was a sled finishing the run in the bottom end. The sled then fired up his motor waving his rod screaming not to fish "his" run..

He proceeded to run right into the side of my buddies boat (t-boning him) and waving his rod all around screaming not to fish his run...

The sled the guy was in was from Oregon and was a alumaweld that was about 17ft long and had a brown stripe down the side and a newer 65 or 90hp Mercury.

If anyone knows who this clown is that would be great to find out, so we can make hell for him everytime I see him out fishing...

No one own's any river and especially not a large river like the lewis or cowlitz.. It's a big open river and plenty of room for everyone...

Stupid idiotic jerk.. if you are boondogging and you float a quarter mile doenstream you lose the run you cannot expect to have a whole big area of river and call it yours till you are done. That kind of thing is absolute BS if you wanna fish a spot and keep it to yourself for a bit then anchor the hell up.. And keep your boat away from other boats no matter what!!!

it's getting scary out there because of people like this.. it ruins peoples expereinces and it threatens peoples health and in fact their lives. a few more incidents like this and i'll be for any regulations that has a chance to eliminate people like this..

Sounds like that guy is a real idiot. You should try to report the guy, so he won't do that again.

Absolutely, call the police. This is assault with a deadly weapon.

Bad deal!

I don't know how I would react if I were in your friends shoes. Having tolerance and keeping my cool is very difficult with people like that. Makes me want to give them some lessons in manners via a baseball bat over the head.

At the very least, I would have tracked the guy at the end of the day and recorded his boat and truck license #'s, take pictures of the dent/scratches in the boat..........that's where the idiot crossed the line. That is physical evidence that law enforcement can use to nail the guy. From there, hand it over to the authorities and let them take over.

I agree with those who said report to police. This is assault. You would never get away with hitting someone with your car on purpose.

T-boning a boat sounds to me like a pretty bad thing.

I believe you are required by law to report this to the U.S.C.G. if in navigable waters.

Your buddy should have gotten his OR. boat numbers and reported it.

should have put a round or 2 into the other boat.....if u fear for your life (and i would have been in fear if it were me), the jerk ws using his boat as a weapon draw yours and put him down he needs to be stoped before he does real damage to someone.

that is definately true with a car. cops do it all the time.

when I was a kid. a guy came thru our neighborhood at about 60 and swerved at my little brother on his bike running him off the road. (we were probably 13 and 11 at the time)

my dad saw it happen and chased the guy down. the guy decided to take a swing. my dad was a pro boxer and laid him out on the street. when the guy went to the cops. the cop said that if he attempted to press an assault charge against my dad then the cops would personally press attempted murder charges against him in addition to using a vehicle as a deadly weapon.

i dont see why it would be much different on the water. its still a deadly vehicle being used as a weapon. especially if the guy was drunk or more likely on meth.

not really suprised to hear about another sled maggot acting like an crackhead. I feel for your buddy, what a terrible thing to go through/put up with. Sounds like you guys need to round up the posse and settle this the old fashioned way shoot

Well had he not had clients in the boat with him, he'd have been in the boat dancing with the dude but he had to hold his composure...

Not saying that whooping the dudes ass is the right thing to do but if someone came at me with a gun, knife, car, boat I'd have reacted a little different. I gaurantee he'd have felt the blast of the almighty 200hp oversize pump I have.... Just tilt it up and roll the throttle on...

Now that would be the ultimate payback, besides the handcuffed ride to the county jail.
