you all have convinced me I will be buying a new fish finder. any helpful hints on which one??

the last time I got a finder that didn't come with the boat I got a state of the art humminbird flasher unit been a few years since then.

how many watts do you really need?? I've never fished 1000' deep.

Is pixcel # more important than wattage ?

what about transducer angle what is best there?? or dose it even matter??

I've seen several that say they won't lose bottom contact at up to 70mph my top speed is 45 (one person, no gear, really low on gas) so why is that important.

I personaly don't care if it can see that catfish laying in the hollow log Ive never seen a salmon do that. I fish open water for salmon mostly sometimes I dreadge bottom for blackmouth in the winter. and I don't want to put my crab trap deeper the the line. extra features can be useful sometimes and I'll learn to use them but only slowly over time.

what do you guy's use as extra features?
what systems do you like?
what would you buy if you had the money and why?

Thanks for the help,
Rattle
