So whats new? Although getting better, Puget Sound was used up until 20 years ago as a toilet for all industry, and in the seattle area they still discharge several million gallons a day of sewage and waste.
I remember as a teen (while the Everett mill was still operating) catching flounder at Pigeon creek that had tumors all over their body.
Here in Idaho, they were bragging in the paper how industry in 2002 had only discharged 72 million pounds of toxins in the water/soil/air...... I guess that is something to be proud of? I guess, since 2001 it was over 90 million pounds.... No wonder we have so much cancer, etc. these days.

Dont get me started. Oopsydaisy too late.

Idaho "they were bragging in the paper how industry in 2002 had only discharged 72 million pounds of toxins in the water/soil/air...... I guess that is something to be proud of? I guess, since 2001 it was over 90 million pounds.... No wonder we have so much cancer, etc. these days."

Typical scenario for most industries and most states in this country. Why does free enterprize in this land have to become ugly oppresive to the point of trashing so many peoples health to make the upper crust wealthy into obscenely wealthy? And its not just people they are screwing, it's the beauty of the environment the fish the animals and etc. mad

When the profit margins rate higher than other peoples well being to the extent of sticking millions of our citizens into the crosshairs of deadly corporate greed guns _ well it has put us on an alarming path that the greedy ****s just dont seem to care about!
And its sickening how they can "hire" some damned politicians that aid and abet this crap!

There are many industries and countless companies that pour mega tons of harmful pollutants into our environment at rates much more than needs to be! Too many to list even 1% of them. What goes on in the minds of the filthy rich top excecutives and stock holders of these companies, and other oppresive and harm causing industries? Maybe something like this behind their meeting doors_ "ah lets see. We could - A. Cut down on polution and clean up our own messes better, or - B. We could unduely harm millions of people and kids (already here and to come) much more than needed. Hmm lets see now, that means - A. We could be rediculously obscenely filthy rich, or B. We can just can just settle for only being super rich. Hey thats a tough one huh boys evil (says the CEOs to the vice presidents and top stock holders). Hahaha. Guess it will just have to be A. again, right? RIGHT".

Wrong!

Incidently Im not as far left as that sounds. The industries and companies that ethically make products and provide big services that help make this planet a better and heathier place to live_ heck, make $millions on your earned profits, and more power to ya.

I especially like the part that says

"Do not eat the wet gooey insides"

Not to worry

When I swung that hard "left" jab at the above dumping status quo in my post above it was right after watching a Michael Moore movie. Must of been po,d. shoot

If these things can be edited after a day Ill go up and tone it down.

Maybe you guys should all "test" out your own soil in your "own back yards" first! And then tell us what we are all eating!

Dammit CFM, I hate it when you bring us back to reality when we are on a roll with our "down with the establishment" diatribe! LOL
Seriously, you bring up a great point. How much Diazenon, Malathion, etc. to we spray all over the place, not to mention the weed and feed. Or, what do most pour down their kitchen drain? Paint, drano, detergent, solvent, just to name a few. Yes, I am afraid CFM is right. We do it also, just not for profits sake. We can just claim stupidity, or sheer lack of giving a s**t, which may be worse than doing it for millions of dollars..... Oh, and I forgot, oiling the dusty dirt driveway?
