If I were to mention Skeena River would I get rise?

My dad dragged me up there a few years ago, I think it was 1963. We caught and broke off some BIG KINGS. I am finishing the construction of a boat that should be made just for that type of water. October might be the time to hit it. Any stories?

What kind of boat did you make?
Im not too familiar with the Skeena system but Im sure that would be a decent time.

13' "stealhead driftboat" I purchased the plans in 1979 then life got in the way. The plan was old and the boat is abit heavy (as am I) It came out looking like a boat in which you would picture a large bearded fisherman , wrapped in green vinyl raingear, cigar , with a 30pounder hanging off his wrist.

Not the boat coverd with Salmon Flies quietly bobbing down the Madison river while the young guy in the gortex outfit delicatley drops Stione Fly nymphs behing the rocks.

The boat has a 30" wide transom and I have a 15hp mounted . It is going to be overpowered I know but I could put ALL ofmy stuff in it and head for Scagway!

While I could be mistaken, I'm pretty sure that's gonna be awfully late for springs (as they call them) in most of the system. Could have some good steelie fishing though smile
