If any of you want to spend a day enjoying awesome entertainment, for a good price.Check this out. www.ussba.org Click on the Woodland link.Next race is July 26.

Sprint boats weigh about 1300 lbs.Are about 13'6" long.Mostly aluminum made. and produce about 600-800 h.p.With the unlimiteds going over a thousand h.p. They will do 80 m.p.h. in 2.5-3 seconds.
They do a timed run on a course with about 30 turns in 55-65 seconds. They have a driver and a navigater that must run the course with no misturns. The link I provided has an overhead picture of the course. That will give you an idea of what these boats can do,Its amazing how well they manouver at the speed they are running.

There is a lot more info, with pictures and links on the www.ussba.org website.
Its $15 for adults.$10 for seniors and kids between 6and 12 years old. With discounts for vets. There is plenty of parking. With lots of room for motorhomes, trailers, campers or what have you.I'm pretty sure we can make arrangements if you want to bring them in the night before or stay that night and leave the next day.I think parking is a donation of $2

The track in Woodland is pretty new.But an awesome setup. The action is nonstop from about 9am to 5pm.with a lunch break about noon.
My wife and I are volunteering our time at these events to help it get off the ground. My brother-in-laws both work for the guys who built the track and own one of the hottest boats in the circuits.
In June they had about 30 boats and hope for more at the next race.Another race will be held Aug 16.and If all goes well they stand a chance of landing one of the national championship races. That would probably bring in a lot of the Australian and New Zealand boats that run over a 1000h.p.
If you have any questions.Let me know and I'll try to get answers for you.If I can think of anything else I will try to update this later.

This is a must see event. You wont regret it if you show up.You wont find better entertainment for the price. We hope to see you there.

My wife says,"sure let's go"! We are sprintcar fans, but will give up sat. night races to come down to Woodland to take in
your event. I just wish I could convince her we should move down that way. We'll make the trip from Snohomish sat. morning. Thanks for the heads up about these guys running.

Bill
P.S. Maybe I can slip out around lunch time to check out the Lamiglas shop!

Im making the trip from Albany. Ive been looking forward to watching them. I will look for ya and your wife.

I wont make the races in August. The river racers will be in Albany that day. Some of those boats hit a 100+ MPH on the rivers. Too cool.

See ya Saturday

Rick,
I'm glad you made me aware of the race. It is a great day of entertainment watching these people race the clock. We found it more to our liking once the drivers kind of memorized the track. It was definitely worth the drive down there.
I found it rather strange, but Lami is not open on Sat. or Sun.
