I grew up fishing point no point my family lived on the beach out for many many years, the last couple of years I fished skunk bay for silvers knocked dead two years ago, last year they never really showed up. With the lack of boat launches in the area (now that point no point resort is closed) I was wondering if any one could give me info on were to fish a Jeff head or point, depth, area, etc. It would be easier to launch in kingston to fish jeff head /point.

Also I read a article in the Bremerton sun last year about King fishing in the Sinclair inlet has anyone ever done this and if so could you give me some info on it.

Thanks,

From Silverdale there is a great launch in Brownsville if you haven't tried it yet. It is a little bit of a run but mostly sheltered water. You can get to Jeff Head pretty quickly or turn the north corner and fish the east side of Bainbridge for cohos. It's usually pretty good there. Later in the season you can go south out of Brownsville through the cut and fish Restoration point. Last year when silvers were hard to come by I did real well there.

buckmaster,

Jeff is like PNP in that most south sound silvers come right on by the point on the incoming and hold up nicely on the out. Fish north of President on the ebb and off the east side of the hump thats between President and Jeff on the flood. Or cover the area southeast of Jeff below the hump on the flood and fish Pt Monroe like you would at PNP on the ebb. The big difference between Jeff and PNP is that the general fishing area at Jeff is bigger and more spread out. I will say that the entire area has been very productive for me, and better than PNP as a rule for silvers. For silvers I wouldn't worry about concentrating on a specific spot but rather fish the seams and rips throughout the area till you find them. Fish can be found in 10' to 150' in every spot imaginable out there but the breadbasket is about 30'-60' down in 60'-100' of water. Watch the other boats and keep an eye on the birds and sea lions. I usually troll with the tide at a fairly good clip. Herring is standard but a flasher/squid or spoon combo is also very effective. Buzz bombs can be dynamite out there if you like casting and retreiving from a drifting boat. SS fish coming by here are very fresh and aggressive, but they seem to move through quickly and don't linger to much so my advice is to keep it moving till you tag em (and you will!). I think half the fun of fishing new areas is unlocking their secrets, but even after 30 years I still discover more about fishing this area with each new year. Hope you have as much fun fishing it as I do. See you out there.

fished there this morning and there is not much going on. Maybe in another few weeks. I remember 2 years ago when the silvers were thick I was consitantly catching OCEAN run silvers after august 16. Take care and find the bait. laugh
