I'm thinking of going up to Deception Pass this weekend for the pink salmon opener there. Does anyone think this is jumping the gun? I just saw a post from someone saying he did well for pinks in the Skagit - does that mean they're coming in early and Deception will be worth it? Thanks for any input.

If you are going, fish the outgoing tide. The pinks and all other fish hold up right in front of the beach at Deception Pass SP till the tide changes then they are bustin' through the pass headin' for home.

Take your waders.

If the pinks are in the skagit they are comming in through the pass, If the fishing is not hot at the pass a 20 min drive to fort casey is another good choice, Ive already caught a few and seen others caught down there...DJ
