Hopefully the water temps in the river will drop, otherwise they may play the mortality card and keep it closed. The bright side...its supposed to cool down over the next few days!!
I cant stand this hot weather any more!!!

Just receive the offical DFO notice. The Fraser will open on august 1 for 4 salmon a day of which 2 can be sockeye. You can choose to kill 4 pink a day, but the daily limit is 4 salmon.
Flossing will start Friday.

Spent the last three days up around the Harrison area and hit the Fraser for about 3 hours each day. Fishing is slow for CNR Sockeye, so few that even the natives are having a hard time finding them with a net. Usually I have 10 CNR sockeye days while fishing for Springs right before the DFO opens the river for socks, hell last weekend I only realease one sock and only saw a handful released. I'm worried about this season hopefully there just late. Let the gong show began.

Big "T" plenty of info in the archives on the fishery.

In all the test fisheries, sockeye are 4-8 days later than normal.

Word of warning expect big crowds this weekend because of a 3-day holiday (BC Day), and yes it can get crowded if you don't have a boat to get out on the islands.

Annual non-resident licenses will cost you around $90-100 U.S., quite a jump from last year. I think a one day license is about $40-50 U.S. Still worth it though in my book. Beautiful river lots of fish pack it in pack it out don't litter.

Happy flossing.

Hey Big T, hope this helps:

Where to go: Launch at Island 22 in Chilliwack and either go up or down river to a gravel bar(you'll have company)

Where to cross the border: Lynden or Sumas

What to take to the border: Passport is best

What to use fishing: Driftin' gear, 1 oz to 2 oz Bouncing Betties, long leader, corkies or equivalent, single barbless hook.

When to go: Now

Remember to take ice(Chilliwack ran out last year) and BC license.
