That's the nice thing about paying with a charge card (not a debit card) - you can contest the charge and won't get burned. Debit cards do NOT have the same protection.

Hey FishinSinsation,

It is fishy, maybe even "crappy"

Let's see if Vision responds.

It's just as well. I had 5 #2 Vision hooks bend before the 6 pound leader line broke this year on the NF Lewis. My partner commented that it was a cool way to get unsnagged. Back to Owners!

i'm sure there is a legitamate reason why this happened. i'm sure it will get resolved quikly. as for hook breakage, any hook will break on a rock. i swear by vision because i've had problems with owners, and gamakatsu, hundreds of times. visions are sharp as hell and a lot cheaper priced than other hooks. i guess it's just personal prefference is all, but i'll stick with vision forever. fish on! and stayin that way! thumbs thumbs

Joe is a sharp dude. Well, maybe not as sharp as his hooks, but he's never dull. smile

He has had email and computer probs since his move. Your situation should get resolved soon, I would think and hope.

you want to yalk to Joe Superfisky. You can find a number in the S.T.S. for his guide service. Owner super needle point hooks are the flat out best, just a bit heavy. If you spend $200+ on a Loomis or Lamiglass amd $120 on a Shimano Curado why go cheap on the hooks?

Thanks for the advice. Although my order is over 5 months old I'll try again.

Any Vision employee(s) or prostaff care to help out?

Order # 1061

Thanks...John

I heard of someone else having a similar problem on an order of several thousand vision hooks for pre-tied boondogging leaders. I heard this from a fishing partner who is friends with the person who got stiffed. So I take it with a grain of salt. Now as to the product, the hooks are sharp and priced at a value. But in my experience they are more prone to bending and poor quality control (defective hooks) than vmc's or gamakatsu's. I've had 2/0 vision hooks bend out to close to 90 degrees fishing 15# leader for fall salmon, and I have had similar problems with boondogging gear and size 4 hooks more with snags than fish though in this instance. For me, with all the money I spend on a fishing trip it just isn't worth the 10 cents or so a hook I would save to fish these hooks. Hooks and line are the last choice of tackle to cut corners to save money. So I ask myself why is there all of this positive feedback from these people that are so passionate about this product. First of all it has active local representation. A large part of the positive intput comes from people who are closely affiliated with that representation or are in the industry and get the product for next to nothing and consider the value worth the inferiority of the product (I have firends in that category) and want to stay in good graces with the company. Then there are those that look up to someone in the previous group and assumes that since that person is better or more knowledgable than they are they must be using the best.

Or maybe I just like wasting money on more expensive hooks. All I know is I don't have a vested interest in any of this.

This subject seems to come up periodically for some reason.

Here is an honest take on Vision hooks, which I have used as much as I have Owners and Gama's. They are not as good as the top line hooks. But they aren't nearly as inferior as some claim them to be. I've never had one bend out on a fish. From 4's to 4/0's. A few of them that come in large boxes aren't as sharp as most of the rest are. But you can sharpen those fairly easily.

As for bending hooks out on snags, I've done that with all the brands. The Owners are the hardest to bend out, and more often break the leader first.

The Visions are a good hook for the price. They hook the fish just as well as all the other brands, except the Owners. And they are close in landing ablility. They are a good value.

But I agree with the take on where you should spend your money. It's not worth it to skimp on hooks or line, if you are a weekend fisherman. For guides that use thousands of hooks, it's a different story.

I wasn't commenting on the quality of Vision hooks as I never got them. My focus is on supporting a local company and board sponsor and receiving poor service.

Cabelas never took my money.

LongJohn,

Sorry, didn't see this thread until now.

I don't work for Vision, but I do maintain the web stuff. I have your order here in front of me, and it was brought to Joe's attention back in May. Your order was dealt with. Now why you never got your stuff, that I don't know.

Now, that in mind, Joe has a person who does his shipping for web orders. I don't know the whole story as to why you haven't gotten your stuff. Seems like you should have received it a long darn time ago.

I have emailed Joe and Justin (the two owners of Vision) about your order.

I don't make any apologies or excuses for Vision. I'll leave that up to Joe or Justin. I just do the web stuff.
