when do kings start showing in the Toutle?

Chinook start running up the Toutle about mid August. The water is low and clear and they tend to stack up at the mouth until a little rain comes through. If we get a little rain there will be salmon freight training up the river. Right now there are quite a few fish at the mouth of the Cowlitz.
