Where is a good (cheap but clean) place to stay in the Ilwaco/Chinook/Long Beach area? We want to hit bouy 10. My fishing buddies and I don't need anything fancy but then again we don't want any ho's working the parking lot either . A kitchenette and a place to park a boat on a trailer would be a plus. We are going down on the 16th and plan to stay for a few days.

what

Any advice would be appreciated.

THE COLONIAL IS MY CHOICE ITS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE FROM:
1. the only stop light in Ilwaco
2. the coffe house across the street opens early enough for breakfast or just some good coffee
3. there's a tavern across the street for good burgers & beers
4. the only grocery is a few hundred feet away

ps: if DO SEE any ho's working the aprking lot, E-MAIL ME AT ONCE !!!!!!!!!

Rented an apartment above the old hardward store in downtown Ilwaco back in the summer of 93, while working as a humble and happy fishchecker. Ah the memories of hearing the trailers squeek by every morning and the smell of the ocean air from my bedroom window. Only if one could survive on simple income, I would still be running the docks down there. I suppose we all have to grow up some time.

Anyway, the Colonial is a good bet. The hotel/motels in nearby Longbeach are probably already booked for the third and fourth weekends in August, and whatever rooms are left over are bumped up in price for the Kite Festival crowd. If Ilwaco doesn't work out there's numerous motels in Astoria that are more reasonable in price and not far from the launches.

Good luck, I'll be down there for some diver/chovie fishing the 24th - 27th. Can't wait.
