To all you cowlitz veterans, I was wondering if anyone knows what temperature the cow is this time of year. It's not a typical summer flow river, does it stay colder than most?

I don't know for sure, but you could probably call the Cowlitz Trout Hatchery at 360-864-6121 and ask them. They always monitor the water temps! The Cowlitz never changes that much because of dept of the turbine intakes on Mossyrock Dam. That pretty much dictates was the water temps will be in the lower Cowlitz below the dams.

It,s been running between 56 - 58 in the upper river. The Columbia at the mouth of the Cow was 73 and the Cow was about 63 with the mix of water on Saturday 8-9
