Well, came home for my Humpy vacation and for the first time in the last 12 years THEY WERENT THERE!!!! Arrgggghh!!!
I saw very few fish, and most were around possession point. Tried for Silvers, but after losing the 4th one right at the boat decided it was not my year for salmon.
On the brighter side, did find a good bottomfish reef north of Gedney and had a blast with my wife catching Rockfish (to 10lbs), Flounder (nice ones) and 2 Lings at about 6lbs each (sniff sniff.... I wanted to eat em soooo bad). She had never seen many of these species before, so that was cool, as was the fact that the Rockfish must be making a comeback. Crabbing was mediocre at best, but sure tasted good while it lasted. The best part of the trip was when my lovely wife made the comment "Honey, we need a bigger boat".... Yeah! Music to my ears.....

Good luck with the Humpies all!!

Don't worry! The fish are just late. There is just too little rain and too much food off of Neah Bay and Sekiu. Out at Sekiu we could not keep the pinks off our line. Their stomachs where also full of herring and krill so they will also be big when they come.

We also noticed that some where larger than usual....

Make your wife write that down! laugh
