Two questions:

1) Is the Tualco Rd. access a decent takeout?

I haven't been over there in a couple years and I'd like to drift to there from Lewis St. if it's feasible.

2) Is that float reasonably safe? I know there was a nasty stump and rootwad downstream a little from Lewis St. but heard that it's been blasted and doesn't pose a problem now. True?

Two answers:

1) Yes, it's decent. Hopefully you have 4WD or it might not be THAT decent. smile

2) The float is safe. The large tree is gone. You might drag a little, especially below Tomcat because of the LOW water, but that's about it.

It's less than a mile from Lewis St. to Tualco, so hopefully you intend to spend most of your time fishing. wink

No 4x4, but a 3/4 ton Suburban with posi. If that's not adequate it'll be an interesting takeout. smile

I think you'll be fine now, especially with the river so low. In the fall and winter the gravel bar is covered with water and the takeout is muddy and somewhat steep, hence the need for 4WD.

Tualco has a big drop off when backing down that is rather steep. A rig as long as a suburban might high center.

You will probably make it but just watch out for that.
