I'm going bank plunking on the Skagit tomorrow at first light and went to buy some sand shrimp. All G.I. Joe's had was that pink cured sand shrimp, not the live ones. I always try to buy live ones and I think most other people do too as these cured ones are all that were left (not the first time). Any opinions out there as to the effectiveness of cured dead sand shrimp vs. live ones?

I wont use cured shrimp even if there are no fresh shrimp to be found (in the stores) instead just buy a couple bucks worth of medium size shrimp from your local grocery store fresh is better but the prefrozen ones work fine use small pieces you don't need the whole shrimp on your rig or apiece of sponge with your favorite scent will work fine too sometimes when plunking i don't even use bait or scent spin n glos work pretty well without it

good luck smile

Used cured sandshrip once...only once. They seemed to fall apart faster than the fresh do. Didn't catch anything either....but that's nothing new. I haven't heard of anyone who likes using the cured, but I'll be interested to see what others say.
