There is very little pro-active up to date, input on the fishing scene and what's hot? Aside from questions, with a good response, it seems very little flows from people who know where the fish are. Guys, the board is not that big. Is this some type of paranoid attitude about getting the word out and thinking everyone and their mother are going to show up?? I don't get it. Aside from all the political banter (I find interesting) I really want to know where the fish are, what are you catching, and good short term advice on where to go. By the way, the Cowlitz is HOT!!! Thanks

Actually the board is that big!

Get out there, explore, put in your time, catch a bunch of fish and yourself as well will want to keep tight lipped!

Come to think of it, Golfer is right. This board is good at keeping people up to date on the major fisheries, but zip lipped on the honey holes we all have and cherish!

Here's to all you tight lipped bast****!! beer

I am not referring to obscure fishing holes. I am talking about rivers, puget sound and the like. Is Edmonds good, shipwreck, point no point...... Damn, everyome and their mother could be ther and it would not matter. I must say Easy Limits is the best of the lot, not that there are not others.

Lately, I have not even been fishing that much. cry Due to a new job I will only be able to fish three days a week.

I can tell you where I will be focusing my precious fishing time in the near future....Green River.

I agree Golfer.

I enjoy sharing my results with all of you after I get back from a trip, and enjoy reading everyone elses reports as well. I will usually take what I read here into consideration before heading out, and will happily share any info I have with someone who posts a question.

Ask yourself, do you do the same thing?

You can see how long I have been around here. In that time, I have noticed a considerable decline in the amount of reporting that occurs.

Good post Golfer, I hope it wakes everyone up and provokes them to post a report about where they fished and how it was. This counts for you lurkers too.

I'll be telling you all how the Deception pass area was for Coho come Monday.

I might share more, but when I do someone comes in from out of left field and accuses me of being a snagger, a poacher, or a person who doesn't pinch my barbs. Oh well, there are a-holes everywhere.

I always make sure folks know what Sekiu is like after a trip, or when I take the boys out for a day I will attempt to post a photo or two of their successes.

Some rivers I fish have seen a HUGE change in the number of users, so I stay off of the Nooch, the Chehalis, and Satsop because they have become overcrowded. It is no fun fishing a stream that has 15 boats putting in at the same launch, all trying to beat the sleds as they head up from the other launches. Part of it may be my fault, but I believe info sharing has had a big impact.

I now fish a number of small streams where I doubt the flow is between 50 to 200 CFS on a rainy day. I might see one to 5 other folks out there, but usually I have the river to myself.

My suggestion to you out there who want to learn some new rivers, trade a trip with someone. Meet a new friend from a different part of the state. This method has worked for me and that is how I fished 15 rivers last year.

Have fun, it is a journey, not a destination.

Okay, here you go. I hammered 6 silvers on the carbon this morning, kept 4 and released 2. I don't think it will matter if more people will show up. Every idiot with a trout pole or surf rod is already there rolleyes

Where abouts are you going to fish up there. I'll be hitting the outside on Saturday morning. If you have vhf or cb let me know what channel.

Coho fishing has been very good right out in front of Edmonds Marina. A 20# Coho was caught off the oil docks in the last few days. Fish with either herring of flasher and squid 50-100 ft down.

It always amazes me how so many people get so upset when their "secret" spot is revealed. Some of those zipperlip areas are crowded and have been for years. With our population explosion it is really hard to find peace and quiet anywhere. Most people will get blasted with both barrells for revealing things like the Green River that was just leaked to 20,000 people....oh damm now there will be a crowd!

Went to Neah bay last weekend and caught 25 blackmouth chinook (5-15 lbs) in about 4 hours. Did not mean to do this, was looking for silvers, but this is what happened.

OK here's my report for last night. Took the kid to the Snohomish since it's in my back yard. Brought 20 fish to the boat, and had long line releases on several others. All pinks most fish were fresh in from the sound, some even had sea lice. Pink squid jig, pink marabou jigs and pink zinger. Fished just above Snohomish.
Also used a Dicknight in hopes of tagging a Silver but just ended up with Pinks.

Hey DB-
I will be camping at Deception pass all weekend, and probably be out Saturday too. I am not sure which side I was going to fish yet, will probably try both.

I hit the sky behind cadman inc last night and caught 2 humps that are just getting their hump and long line released 4 more in about a hour. glad to hear that more pinks are heading up river and may go try a spot near snohomish later today.I have been doing really good with red mini squid below a 3/8 weight. I even rigged that below a flaot for the wife last week and she hooked up 4 times in a hour and lost them all. I let her use a float so she does not hang up all the time ,works good for kids that have not fished much before. i like it for slow sections of the river. you get a much longer drift from it.

The Puyallup and Carbon are full of fish. We're getting the largest pink return ever for these rivers. The coho aren't bad either, I got one chrome 8 pounder for just a couple hours of fishing. There are also some older kings near the hatchery.

Dose that help?
