I'm sure you all know what day it is...

Here is to the rememberance of the people that lost lives that day... and a prayer goes out for their families and friends for comfort and peace. I will never forget...

And to all the troops who's job it is to try and keep us safe from the people around the world that would like to do us harm... Thank You...

Heavens sake people give it a rest......
Can we not beat everything to death?
How many die on our freeways every year, do we mourn for them every anniversary of their death? I feel for anyone who loses a loved one. What we need to remember is that our borders are open and anytime someone wants to close them up the left screams that we cannot do that "It's unconstitutional"

We Americans do so love to dramatize the hell out of everything.........

You seem to be an insensitive person who hates Americans and Indians. Maybe you actually hate yourself? confused

Well, for someone that has as many negative posts/complaints as you G'pa, that is the kettle calling it black.......
I love this country, my son is 1/4 Klamath indian (and I love and support him). I am just very tired of how Americans have become and then whine about why no other countries like us (and we can't figure out why).
We have it better than any other country, yet we complain more than any other country. We have so many problems in this land, yet we refuse to fix them but insist on figuring out every other countries problems for them (and usually fail).
Common sense used to rule this country, and anymore it is "All for one, and one for none". That is why this country is going down the tubes and will continue. We will be despised until we wake up and get one big attitude adjustment.......

Just my $ .02 worth.....

The big difference is that I do not hate anyone. Vigorous disagreement is not hate.

If 3000 people were killed in one crash, and then 343 firemen rushed into save them and died as well.... Yeah I would probably mourn them every year...

Besides if we forget what happened, we just open ourselves up for it to happen again...

Did I say anything at all about forgetting?
We should never forget, But as I said before, us (and I include myself in the us) do not really know true tragedy, but we act like we do. Just as we despise and criticize the French for acting the way they do when we saved their butts in WWII.... We have a good reason to despise them for that . We are not very good at looking at ourselves and understanding even a little why we are so despised in this world. Until we do, we will have many more 9/11's and even worse.
What is the difference if the number to die is a day, a week, or even a year? Loss of life is very sad. But, when it is sensational loss of life, we hop on the media boat and propel it along........
In past generations, the ethic was hard work and helping your brother....... Today it is work hard at getting as much for as little effort as possible..... Driving home from the Hospital this morning, I could not believe all the $200,000.00 + motorhomes on the highway. Yet we still complain about how our economy is in the dumps and seniors cannot afford their medications..... I know many cannot, but there is a lot of wealth in this country and we need to count our blessings more and instead of always centering on our have nots, begin to celebrate (humbly) that we are not being hacked to death with a machete in Angola, or cradling our dead child that was just playing outside a building in the Gaza strip when the Israeli gunships tried to take out a Hamas leader......... Classic example, and then I will stop... I was taking care of a child in ER the other day and her mother (5 children, on Medicaid) was angry when I explained to her that she might be responsible for the bill because her child only had a cold, and she had been sick for 3 days and the mother could have taken her in to the MD's office (Medicaid frowns on splurge ER trips)....... Then overheard her talking to a friend of hers about her new PC she had just purchased and what a bargain it was for under $1500.00 .... This is our poorest of poor????

Thank goodness for fishing...... smile
