it's really really slow. i've seen only about 5 fish caught in the last month or so i've been fishing, but they've all been in the last week or so. all humpies, but no 30 fish days like it was 15 years ago, which is kind of strange considering you never used to be able to keep them when they were thick, but you can now. haven't seen a single king or silver caught yet myself this year though

Keep in mind, for those who might not know, you have be a DoD I.D. card holder to fish the area in and around and bordering Ft. Lewis. The M.P.'s will ticket you if you get caught fishing on Nisqo without the proper I.D. Good luck. The M.P.'s have been patrolling a lot lately.

You can get a Range Pass from the Fort also. They are free and good for one year (I think, don't have mine with me to look at right now).

Are you talking about the area north of the bridge? I see guys drive right down on the river but to get you have to pass Ft Lewis property signs. Where do I get one of these passes you are refering to...can you give me diretions from Olympia?

ChumMan sounds just about right, and corresponds with what I was told. The WDFW kid told me several 14-16 and one 30 but in total about 8-10 fish, must have been a mini run smile

The water sure changed color that for sure

If you see me in a BIG white Jeep stop me and say Hi

I drove by this morning on my way home and they were alot of people fishing. I couldn't believe it, looked like blue creek, shoulder to shoulder near the mounts road bridge. Has anyone had any luck on McAliister Creek?

only fished right above the bridge once, and got frustrated at all the jacks jumping around but having lockjaw mad

from what i've seen, everybody piles onto the sand bar right below the handicap. seen most of the 6 or so fish i've saw caught there, all humpies.

i swear the access gets worse on the river every year, and the scum never goes away. last time i fished on that little sandy beach i was all alone, but there was garbage all over from the trash that lives in the area near the river

also, some good samaritan should bring a chainsaw and machete down to the rocks below the handicap, the bushes and grass are slowly obliterating the hole again like they were before all the rocks were dumped there

there are a few fish in mccallister down low, i looked off the bridge near the hatchery and saw nothing but a filleted out carcass near the road, a buddy of mine brought 2 home the other day and i wouldn't have even kept those for my smoker...think i'll avoid mccallister but i am on my way to nisqually to pick up some smokes for my mother who will be in oly to visit tonight, i've got my rod rigged up with a float and some eggs for a quick stop since i'll be out that way...i'll have a report if it's worthwhile

Went down to McAllister creek today and yesterday. During the low tide yesterday
I saw about 10 kings, extremely skittish. Everything I saw was dark(boot dark) Still nothing at the hatchery this morning which is odd. Talked to a guy and he said they are schooled up about 200 yards below the I-5 bridge in the bird sanctuary. Can't fish from the bank there so one has to float it down. Thought about floating it this morning but the Seahawks and Mariners also play this afternoon, a little more important than a dark boot!
