Have been checking out Quil bay and vicinity almost daily.

We need a good 1"-2" of rain to get the Silvers into the bays heading for the rivers.

Maybe this weekend will bring some precipitation we dearly need.

Add wind to that prayer...

It seemed to me like Quil Bay was pretty hot this week, too. More than 2 fish per rod is what I saw.

WHAT? Are you all F&H news reporters that can only spread HYPE?

The Oly.Penn Rivers need a good rain to flush some new life to the saltchuck to bring those Coho in from the Straits where they are still stacked up.

Any early silvers in Quill-Bay are 1ft off the bottom and may take a herring. Anything else higher up is going to be Humpies or Chum. All those boats anchored S. of the pilings and pulling BuzzBombs are mostly snagging Chums, which, of course is a No No to keep, who would wnat to anyhoo.

Add to that, the Big Quil is soooo low in water level, that few larger fish can navigate the upper stretch to the weir at the hatchery.
There was not even a single vehicle parked at the lot for the BigQuil-101 bridge this evening.
