Was laying out my fishing strategies and noticed yet again that the Hoh tribe seems to be the most responsible of the tribes on the streams near Forks in terms of a netting schedule.

Queets River:

The Queets River Indian gill net fishery will operate 5 days per week from:

September 1 through October 18, opening noon Sunday and closing noon Friday.
The fishery will operate 2 days per week from:

October 19 through November 22 , opening noon Sunday, and closing noon Tuesday.
Hoh River:

The Hoh River Indian gill net fishery will operate 2 days per week from:

September through November, opening at 10:00 am on Monday, and closing at 10:00 am on Wednesday.
Quillayute River:

The Quillayute River Indian gill net fishery will operate 4.5 days per week from:

September 1 through 27, opening at 6:00 am on Mondays, and closing at 6:00 pm on Fridays
The fishery will operate 3.5 days per week:

September 28 through November 22 opening at 6:00 am on Mondays and closing at 6:00 pm Thursdays.

We often yell and shout about netting, and sure it would be great for the sportsman if they didnt net at all, but insofaras fairness is concerned that isnt real equitable either.

So here is a note of thanks to the Hoh tribe for being responsible and implementing a very conservative netting schedule as compared to the other tribes of the region.

Here is to a good river salmon fishery to all. beer
