They were netting it pretty heavy last night. Anyone know what their schedule is? Might be slim pickings for the derby.

Thanks for the warning stealhead. Do they allow commercial boats in Puget Sound still or are they tribal netters?

They looked tribal to me. I just wonder if they are netting nightly now or not.

If you are talking about them netting north of Hat Island in the Camano Head area they are Tribal. One of our neighbors helps with the netting. He told me that they net on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Sometimes they net Saturday too. I took a friend from Eastern Washington out on Sep. 12. We ended up on the west side of Possesion and at PNP. We caught 3 silvers and 2 pinks. Silvers were about 6 lbs. each. Also released 5 blackmouth.

Hey Welcome to the board Saltfisher!

Glasd to hear they are only neeting up north.

So am I reading this correctly.... no nets around Possession and in the straight between Milkuilteo and Whidbey?

They were netting from the Mukilteo ferry to Possession or further.

SkyGuy - I was the one who nabbed your boat seat last week. Fished Possession west side 9/12 for 7 dogshish and seagull. Luckily got the gull off quickly. After that mess headed up to Admiralty Head where it was beautiful but again no fish. Went to Bush Point and were probably too late. Tried Mukilteo at the end of the day and saw some pinks and a big Navy Ship come in.

It was a nice uncooperative day.

I sure hope they aren't netting. I heard that over by the bubble upto Kyack that there are silvers all over the place?? There usually is this time of year though. Although I can't really remember seeing very many nets out there??? Maybe they have a one or two day fishery?

The netting has been the Port Susan Area. Most of them are throwing the kings and pinks back and keeping the silvers. On days we have been out while they are netting the fishing has sucked. Keep an eye out if you are between the bubble and stilly river mouth because o few of the netters are stretching the nets between a tree on shore and their boat and they have all of the net buoys next to the boat. We saw two boats drive over the nets in the shallow water and get all cuaght up just because they had no buoys the lenght of the net. Also in the Snohomish river just below the I-5 Bridge we have been trolling small green, silver, and copper dicknites and between two of us we catch 2-4 fish and lose more. Happy fishin'
