I'm thinking of trying this for the first time myself. I looked through the archived reports at Washingtonlakes.com, and found some good info.

It sounds like, at any given time, various gear will work: the above mentioned coyote and dodger or flasher, plugs of various types, jigs, and (sssssshhhhh, don't tell anybody) sockeye gear.

Good luck. I'll post my results after I try it...

Fished Lake Washington today ( friday the 10th) one 10 # Hen in the Kenmore area.
The tribal guys pulled their nets at noon and said they won't be back until Sunday night. He had 385 fish this morning, silvers and cutts.......

The fish were scattered 23 to 48 feet. Some fish in the channel from the slough. Try between the red can and the white steel float it is only about 16-17 ft, Mag warts, chrome or red, good luck!

Doug P, when you got your tribal netting report, did you get any sense what the % bicatch was of the cutts? What do they do with the trout? I would imagine they're isn't any market for them...

Jeff'ed,

There isn't a market for any of those fish. It is strictly an egg fishery. They strip the coho hens and toss the carcases.

They said that they get .60 # for chrome and .25 for a little color. The silvers that I saw were not cleaned but the cutts gutted and the heads removed. I just took a look in one cooler and saw three cutts about 2 1/2 lbs maybe 21 to 23" on top of the silvers.
