I spent a LOT of time coaching and supporting my boys on the baseball field. My youngest one seemed to slap the ball around the diamond and hence became Slaps, from there out popped Papaslaps, Even made bats for Slaps' college career , Slap Stiks of course.

however , back when that girl with the Bud in her thong was the popular post Papa 's lap was cool cool

Mine is too obscure to 'splain. I will anyway!!

Think Jeff, then change the ff with the other f sound (ph = f) and mix it with freak, you get the point.
Stupid, but mine, and somewhat original... And how many jeff's are there online with email names *jeff*@??? etc?

To be different is the short answer!

It's what I named my boat because it's what I do with my boat.

'This is my boat's name, Six of Five, I have 5 children and my 19' Arima. A bit of Trekkie (TNG) in the name. Most don't get it but that's half the fun.

Mine was given to me by my parents for unknown reasons. I didn't come up with anything clever because I was in a hurry to sign up and get some info and just never got around to changing it. I also like that if you see me out there, you already know my name and can call me that. Now, as for boat names I'm thinking I'll name mine "The Other Woman" or "The Mistress" since most weekends I am with her other than my wife. Wifey doesn't think those are very clever, however. I'll keep thinking on that one......

Wooley worm is a fly that is seldom used in Western Washington any more. Yet, when I learned to fish, it was almost always on my line.

So basically, it shows that I am a fly fisher that has been around the sport for a few years.

While I don't exclusively fly fish, it is my first love, and I still want to be sucessfully exclusive with salmon and steelhead. I am an exclusive fly fisher for trout.

...fished with my father-in-law and learned how to salmon fish from him and whenever it get slow on the salts, he'd reach in the bag and get a LAAAAARGE herring, cutplug it, throw it on and pull up a monster of a fish. I'm a believer and preach the same to my kids. thumbs thumbs

WW, the woolly worm has been eclipsed by the woolly bugger, my go-to fly. But I still carry a few woolly worms too in my trout fly box. My handle came from a colleague at work due to my propensity to talk about fishing and all the smoked salmon I'd brought in. One day he just started calling me salmonbelly and kept it up, so that's what I started calling my boat.

Because I spend a LOT more time questing for slabs than I do actually boating slabs.

And being on a "quest" sounds a little more noble than just going fishing.

I named my 15' aluminum boat Slab Quest.

My SeaSport has a different name...

For me it started on a steelhead fishing trip to Georgian bay in Ontario. I have always had a little more downtime than most people but, since I was so pumped to fish it made matters worse. Anything that could cause downtime happened to me in great amounts. Towards the end of the trip my freinds just started to call me downtime, and the name has stuck with me ever since smile .

My first post to the board was on a sleds-vs.-the-world thread. Anyone want to wager which side of the debate I was on? wink

It was used IN SPITE OF, not in any way because of, the Star Wars flicks.

Now that I'm fishing more from a drift boat, I'm considering other options.

I fished with the same group all through college up until a few years ago. We would skip school for weeks at a time and head out fishing. Idaho, Wa, BC, Oregon rivers lakes etc. so we spent a lot of time fishing together. I started fishing when I was 4 in the Sky. It was in the mid 80's after back to back trips. I filled the boat on a 3 day float in Idaho with big trout. One other guy caught a couple of small ones, two rafts 8 guys. A week later we were in BC off the West side of Vancouver Island. I filled the boat again with Springers and Coho. One king went 62lbs. After that they just started calling me The King when we fished or hunted.

After camping for a week during salmon season at Cottonwood campground on the Hoh you can imagine how bad you start to smell. Im sure all you hunters can say nothing smells worse than a wet bear fresh out of hibernation beer

it's for my affinity of the snaggletoothed fish that tend to show up in the rivers in november

i made the name up in 1999 when i found nwfishing.com, and used to start huge flame wars there about snagging/indians/poaching. some of you might remember the old me, i'm not as much like that any more...
