when removing the belly hook permanently one kwikfish, do you have to seel the hole in the plug left by the missing belly hook? If so, what do you use? My intention is to create a better surface for a herring or sardine wrap.

why do you want to remove those hooks. just cut a slit in your sardine wrap so you can just slide it on. Leave those hooks on and maybe even switch the treble to siwash..

If taking the belly hook off leave the eye-screw in the plug of the belly. This way no sealing is required.

When wrapping with a Sardine you must cut the Sardine like a pair of pants so the "legs" slide through the middle of the eye.

If you look in the tips and techniques section of this forum Bob does an excellent job showing how to cut the Sardines.

I think I will cut my sardines like pants. My plan was to put a 1/0 siwash hook on the rear split ring and eliminate the treble hooks. I have heard this results in more hookups. Then I thought why not take the belly eye out to create a smooth surface on which to place the sardine. Thanks for the help.
