I have a PT 014 for my C-50 Olympus zoom. It is the absolute coolest thing for the fishing guy!! You have all the functions of the camera in a case that looks like a kids toy. You can lay it down in the boat in the water or in the rain and grab it up for that special shot!! I've flicked herring guts on it and just washed it off and kept shooting. I got mine off ebay and it is the way to go for people with digitals who can't justify buying the new waterproof ones.

Never thought about doing that for weather proofing. What a great idea!

Do they accomodate the zoom features well, or does that vary a lot between models?

I have a nikon coolpix 950 that i abused for years out in the mist and rain of the NW, and never could find any casing that wasnt just gigantic and a bi^%h to hang around the neck.

Pentax has just come out with a new model the Pentax Optio 33WR (The WR is for weather/water resistent) They sell for $300 to $350 brand new, and are nice and small and fit well in a wader pouch. They are not meant to shoot underwater, but can be dunked in the water to clean them up, and can also be run under a faucet. 3.3 megapixel, using and SD card for memory.

Thanks to AMoser for tipping me off on that cam. Just used it this weekend on the coast and it seemed to do the trick just fine.

The C-50 I have is 5 megapixels and is like the smallest zoom Olympus makes. The case fits it perfectly. In the case it's about the size of a regular point and shot 35MM camera. There are knobs and buttons to access all the camera functions. If you've spent the money on a digital already then this case thing is really the way to go in my opinion. But then again everyone knows what opinions are like.

I have a sony digital camera that i bought last year and got an underwater case for it. it was a little pricy but i figured $150 isnt too bad of insurance for a $500 camera. I can now take my camera fishing with me and get some pretty cool underwater shots too! Check ebay....thats where i got my case. computer
