I just came back from checking the dock at Redondo........not much going on. Only a few people jigging and only one squid caught in the half hour that I was there.......Sure hope they get here soon........I love em!

DWS,

I just returned from the downtown Seattle piers...you should head this direction. Lots of other squiders, rain & wind - but lots of squid too.

Good luck!

It seems that Redondo always does better in the middle of November and December.

No matter where you go, a half an hour usually just won't cut it. Got to be there when the school moves through if you want the real action. Put a couple hours on any of the piers and you will most likely hit a bite.

You can jig for squid anytime. Might not catch any if it isn't somewhat dark though!!!

The good part about the winter is that it gets dark about 4:30pm and doesn't get light until about 7am. Pick your poison.

I've had good luck as early as 4:30pm and as late as 7am. The "bite" has always died off after sun-up.

I have seen people successfully jig squid in the daylight but it's rare. They like to come near lights at night and thats when you are going to have your most success. Look for places that are lit up every night. They will be the most consistent.

Harper pier in port orchard is pretty good right now. The only time you will catch many squid during the day is if there spawning near the pier. They dont leave the egg mass till they die.
