I was raised a Husky then went to WSU and hated them for 20 years. Just started to like them again about 5 years ago.
The fall of the Husky football program started with Gerberdings jealousy of Don James power in the area because of the boosters. Hedges was just in the wrong place at the right time for her. The fall of the program became complete with Hedges hiring Gilbertson. Nice guy great offensive mind just not a head coach. The Huskies under James came to national power behind a defense. Every school that is considered a national power year in and year out has a defense that strikes fear in the heart of the opponents offense. Hedges made the homer choice to get the boosters and fans to back off the Nuweasel scandle. Hedges started out as a lackey for the presidents office and now has become a liability. I doubt anything will happen until they hire a new pres. for the UW. The only thing that will happen until then is the UW football team will look like the Cougars of the 1980's up one week blown out the next. Not the team that opponents knew was going to beat them up and grind on them for 4 quarters. It will be a long time as they will be sanctioned by the NCAA shortly.

It will be a long time as they will be sanctioned by the NCAA shortly. I have'nt heard that. For what infraction?

Lack of institutional control because of Basketball recruiting, the Nuweasel episode and now Dr. Feelgood.
But I am just guessing based on what has happened with other programs with less.
