What are your suggestions for buying a boat for the sound? I live on one of the inlets in the south sound, and want to buy a boat next spring for fishing. I will probably end up buying something used that will be mainly for fishing. What size and make would you suggest?

This is the bay boat that I dream about.

However, I'd trade out the live well leanig post for peadastal seats, and remove the t-top.

Makai, There really isn't an answer to your question. How much are you willing to spend? How many people? Are you a hardcore fisherman? Fish in the wind and waves in February or only the sun of July and August? You can get by with a little aluminum with a nice tiller motor like Spawnout, a little Arima like I use, or all the way up to a 25' Grady White.

I was in the same predicament and finally got a boat I could go out in the salt with or use in the lakes.
PROBLEM, I am moving and must sell it!!
due to unemployment.

I have it in the classifieds here on the board.
http://www.piscatorialpursuits.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=002314

My boat is fully set up to use, nothing fancy, just a good boat.

I don't want to list all the stuff on the main board, but take a look in the classifieds.

Bottom Line: If you want a boat, ready to fish, downriggers(one electric) fish finder, and enough poles etc to get ya going, this may be the deal for you!!

I am Moving in app. 3 weeks, so am pretty willing to deal.

It is an 18ft Seaswirl/Full Canvas/good runner/kicker, and lots more.

If you want pics email me
woodsy.wayne@verizon.net

For me, nothing but this will do...that is, if I get rich:

I have been using a 15' Duroboat with a 25hp sense 1997 and it is a great bay boat. Mine looks just like the one on duroboats homepage but without the console steering.

I may be putting mine up for sale soon (looking at a new boat this saturday)

I think Wooley Worm is on the right track!

I still think the question must be answered as to what your uses may be and how many people. I used to own the crestliner pictured above and it is a nice little sound boat, even took it to sekui, but is not made for more than 3 people (small folks) and 2 is much better. I also had a couple of trips that ended with the "victory at sea" feeling when the wind kicked up or the rains came in fast. Never felt unsafe, just had to take my time going back to the dock or ended up wet and cold. I now own an Arima 17 Sea Ranger that is much more comfortable and stable. It is also alot more money to buy, maintain and operate. Take an honest look at your needs and see what you plan on doing and you will get some better answers.

Woodsy Wayne's deal looks very sweet. Check out that picture. The boat and trailer look to be in great shape. I don't think you can go wrong for $3k.

Its down to 2500 bucks or offer.

The next step will be selling things seperately, I would rather just make someone the package deal.

If you want Just the boat without d-riggers,fishfinder, kicker, That is possible.

If it was 80 degress and humpies were running I know it would easily sell and I would not have to give it away!

But, that is not the case....

I hope it sells, sure would make moving easier.
