Does anyone have a phone number to check on the current Columbia River Gill net fishery for coho? It was supposed to end on Friday!

CF,

I talked directly with Joe Hymer Region 5 on Monday, and he"assured" me it will be closed midnight 10-30, and there should be no extensions ino November, because of the lack of Coho in the upper Columbia.

What do they expect, with the season the netters were alloted this year they hit the runs pretty hard.
Look at the fish counts over Bonneville.1200 1300 coho on a good day. Some days with 500-600
Something is keeping them from traveling that far up.
After last years run,I heard stories that coho returns on the Cowlitz were supposed to be way over 100,000.This summer it was getting downgraded to 80,000.Last week I heard they are expecting 25,000.What a difference.
Do you suppose the downgrade to 25,000 was because of the take by gillnetters?
Its pretty easy to get the sport catch for a certain river a week ago.For a certain river.By the internet.Or the newspaper, etc. But how many times have you heard what the commercial catch on the Columbia was this fall?
