Way to go rougesteelheader,

Your post may have just alleviated alot of pressure on the Satz. The rest of you guys can rest easy now and fish in relative obscurity. And just in time for the weekend too. Whew, that was close.

Congrats RS, sounds like you had a lot of fun. These are the good ol' days, right? Thanks for sharing, but how about some pics for those of us confined to the back yard?

No, we checked that... There is a bump where the fin is/was, but there is definately not a fin there.

Good job Rob B, and even a better job by your son! You checked the adipose, saw that it was gone - perfect by me.

Amen to that, Peter. beer

I can't believe Parker is trying to insult our intelligence like that.....

I'll bet next time he'll check for an adipose......if not on the river, then at least before he posts pictures!!!

Yeah, yeah.............it's a salmon.

No..........it's a cod.

Or possibly a grouper.

Groupers have forked tails, you know.

This is pretty funny stuff . Why watch TV when you can get comedy like this right here.

I got a steelhead with a fork in it's tail........and then a little while later , the fork was stuck in its side.

I was eating it. With a fork.

Oh........hahahahahaha!

Ok sorry............momentary loss of cerebral function.

Why don’t all you BOYS quit your dam crying?
and shut the h*ll up. mad
The Indians and the nets kill more fish and all you can do is complain, and act like you so great.
enough already let the kid enjoy his catch, and his dad be the proud father that he has the right to be.

That’s a dam nice fish.
congrats to the young one and many more to him. And be proud Rob at least you take the time to go with him many more good days to you both. beer

The Indians.....hahahahah YOU need some education little one. The "Indians did it" is just so boring and such a beat to death urban legend, ya cracka. beathead You can do better than that.

I personally think the fish was a big Narrows Herring that went upriver to spawn. Nice Fish though!!!!

Did somebody say indians? I thought on such a politically correct thread like this you guys would be sensitive enough to call them native Americans.

Nice catch Kiddo and hopefully many more to come. Dont worry about all the negatives there just grumpy cause they havent caught one lately.

P.S
For a native fish it sure does have a hell of a bend in the lower part of the caudal fin? Its a little early for natives in the sammish too isnt it?

Looks hatchery to me.

Nice fish. I bet that was a blast for your son to get into that one!! Hooked for life now. cool

To bad there are so many yahoo's on this board that feel they just have to piss on everyone's parade and always have the holier than thou attitude on everything. Really should start calling this board piscatorial perfections . I forgot the PP disclaimer, "don't want to start anything though". rolleyes

For those of you who decided that Rob B was guilty of keeping a wild fish need to check their facts. I took the original image and blew up the area (using software a little more advanced than paint shop) showing a CLIPPED ADIPOSE FIN and a rock behind it that gave the appearance of an intact adipose. Nice fish, Rob. Congrats to your son. Tell any of the doubters to get a life and to check the photo for themselves.

If you look really close at the original photo you can see a second, prehistoric adipose just above the other. Is this the legendary double addi steelhead? I've heard many stories of this elusive strain of chrome, now finally the proof. Now do both adipose have to be clipped for it to be qualified as a hatchery fish? Or, from the top adipose up is native and from the bottom clipped adipose down is hatchery? I'm so confused.

I wish they would open up bowfishing for steelhead again. Is gamikatsu still making those barbless arrows?
