Got about 50 squid at the Redondo pier last night between 11:30 and midnight. Then the "bite" died. Fun while it lasted.

Just some things youll never hear squid jigging, but its fun anyways.

Yeah, it is dangerous and exciting out there! No salmon will squirt you in the eye with a big dose of ink! I would call the squid average sized.

Just make sure to protect your spot when the squid schools come in. A few years ago my dad and I were squid jigging off the Des Moines pier. A school came in and we started hooking up. My dad hooked doubles and in the time it took for him to turn around and dump them into his bucket, two Asians were in his place. He asked them to move but they pretended like they didn't speak English even though 5 minutes earlier they were talking about fixing one of their cars. He just yelled, MOVE! and they went running.
