I'm headed over to fish with a couple of inlaws this week on the Clearwater, I see the water is pretty cold, I was wondering if there was too much slush in the water to fish??? Can anyone help me out here? Thanks in advance, we are leaving tue. morn

Slush? Pretty funny. Not of as yet . But there was that strange looking stuff that accumulates in the eyelets and on the spool. The mouth of the Clearwater was bangin'. Out of 15 hits on 3 rods, we got 9 to the boat. Put 5 in the box. That was on friday with float and jig. Have heard of days like that in the upper section also.

what part of the clearwater will you be fishing, if your anywhere near the northfork (ASAHKA), it doesnt slush up..its warmer water in the n.fork.. ive even seen bass caught out of the n.fork in middle of winter, they seem to come from the main river when it gets to cold,it stays constant cuz of the outflow from the dam..i was thinking about going over there this weekend, but it looks like i will have to go to oregon instead..

Yes, we will be there this weekend, and a few days next week also. The water is nowhere near slushing up, that won't happen till december if at all. The upper river will freeze up but below the north fork that won't happen. Plan on hanging out between Peck and Lenore, or Lenore to Cherry lane. Green Willies with Dead Head sticker on the back. Say howdy !! Fishing has been good but true hogs have been slow to show..

I might see ya on that Lenore run on Fri B-Run. Gonna try up the river on Thursday. I wish I could fish Sat and Sun but if I don't take my son elk hunting this weekend he is going to go look into the foster child program. I'll be the rower in a old white Lavro with yellow oars. Good Luck!!!

I never get tired of looking at nice racks, and whitetails are pretty cool too...
