Almost bought one a few days ago to take some pressure off my Loomis 1025C. But after befriending the salesman he confided in me that he has had several Rouge rods returned due to failing while fishing. He stated that a couple rods have "exploded" during hooksets in sub 30 degree weather. I don't believe everything I hear but that was enough coming from a retailer to cause me to shy away. I am considering a TH custom 1025C instead.

My cousin bought two of them and broke them both setting the hook. But before that he was bragging them up.

I think any brand can break setting the hook from what I've heard. All I say is that they must set the hook really, really deep!

I have one Rogue River rod. It seems to be fine so far.

I have two plug rods one for steelhead and the other for salmon. I have gotten a good number of fish on each with no problem

well I have only had mine for little more than a year I haven't used the lighter one that much I have caught a few green R. fish on it but the bigger one has been in downriggers at sekiu to maney silvers to count used it on a tribal river with K-15s and caught a bunch of good size kings the biggest being 33# if I ever break one on a fish I'll probably change my mind

Had two. Both broke on hook set. They were happy to replace them, but I decided I had had enough.

I've got three. My brother turned me on to them, as he lives about two miles from the factory. He owns six or seven. They are great rods for the $$.

They are light and sensitive and will break if not treated properly, just like a GL3 or an IMX will break if not treated right.
