Hey- everyone, i'm a new transplant to the area from Montana where the men are men and the trout are huge. I am doing some exlporing out here and picking up tips pretty slow. I am not a fishing purist by any means but, I like to be ethical and it seems that pretty much every one on piscatorail pursuits is the same way. I have witnessed some pretty appalling things out on the rivers here and it is good to know everyone doesn't fish that way. Ive caught some fish, a big King on the puyallup and some silvers and pinks up north so I got the fever bad what and can't wait to catch steel head fever. Anyway I heard someone talking about the wallace and found it on the map, just wondering if it is worth the trip. I know how precious a fishing secret is, especially out here, and appreciate any information I could get. Rip some lips.

The mouth of the Wallace has been producing pretty well. Thursday I saw at least three limits taken before 10:00 A.M.

This is not a zipper lip. On a weekend you can expect to see at least a dozen other anglers there. Take Hiway 2 to Startup. Turn right at the road by the mom and pop store. Cross the river and follow the road to the right. Go about 1 mile and a 1/2 and look for all the parked cars. Try fishing the slow water behind some of the rock fingers you will see on your way down river to the mouth of the Wallace. Good luck.

Wallace mouth was putting out a lot of chums this morning. Hot ticket were pink jigs tossed into the deep hole along the rocks. No zipperlip here, lots of anglers into fish.

I fished the Sky just above the mouth of the Wallace, no chums for me but did find a couple silvers, decent shape but I don't need bucks so back they went. Tiny D Nites, both of them.

I saw one guy walking back w/ steelhead today while i was fishing the mouth, but all chums for me today. It was nonstop action for me. Floats and pink jigs were the ticket.

I actually went to the Sky above the wallace about a mile or so above start up, to beat the crowd, there is something to say about relative solitude. Got into a whole ton of the uggliest salmon ever, but boy do they fight. Great day in the rain.

I fished the wallace yesterday the river was really muddy did hook about 7 chum and a couple of silvers nothing really to write home to mom about but they are really aggressive fish on that river. If you do fish the river use eggs. Eggs work really good on this river. Or jig and float but you will be constantly shortening and lengthning your leader do to a variation of depth.
