Hopefully they're a a bit on the pessimistic side, but here's an excerpt from this afternoon's discussion of the upcoming weather:

Quote:
OVER THE SOUTH SLOPES OF THE
OLYMPICS...WE WILL BE LOOKING AT RAINFALL RATES OF UP TO .25-50"/HR
FOR AROUND 42-54 HOURS.
Anyone need an out-of-work guide for about a week? :p help

Jeez, if my math is correct - that is between 13.5 and 27 inches of rain in the next 4 days. Downright apocalyptic.

This ought to take care of any remaining live chinook eggs in the gravel of westside rivers. A side effect might be the evaporation of comments that chinook salmon have recovered. Doesn't matter how good ocean survival conditions are if there aren't many smolts going to sea next spring. 2007 is going to be an ugly year for chinook, and 2005 isn't looking too good for humpies.

Sincerely,

Salmo g.
