Well, may as well forget about launching or taking out there. The road is washed out and there aint no way around it. Talked with the owners and they said they aint putting in any other road. Looks like Barlows or bust. Just FYI.. beathead beathead beathead

Nebb,

Wowser! That's a bummer. First time I ever floated the Hoh I took out at G & L. That's like losing an old friend. Is it still possible to park and walk in there for the plunkers and bank fishers? Change is the only constant, eh?

Sincerely,

Salmo g.

Rich,

I didn't go over to Cottonwood and have not heard anything about it. The next time I am out that way i'll check it out ..

Salmo,

You can still park on the G&L shake road (plenty of room before the washout.) Just make a small walk through the woods and you'll be there.. Good luck all!!!

Why not take out on that long gravelbar that's about a mile north of G&L? I was there a couple of weeks ago (after the big flood) and had no problem taking my ranger all the way to the river bank. I used to think that that was G&L shake rd. however, when hitting it a couple of weeks ago I noticed that I passed GL. I think I was around mile marker 171 or so..

Nolan Creek, was the take out above G & L Shake.........don't know the mile marker but there is a "county gravel, sand" pile just off the 101 road.

Allen Bar, is just a short ways north of the Hoh River Campground. Used to be free to launch there, might be a fee now.
