I started the topic on the president's surprise trip to Iraq because I thought it was a great thing for him to do. The morale boost for the troops was the right thing at the right time, in my opinion.

Unfortunately a couple of people who apparently hate the president so much they go ballistic at the mention of his name ruined it with their hateful comments. In GoHarley's case atleast he chose to send me a private email that shall remain private. He and I disagree on politics but atleast he had the class to try not to ruin the topic and also take the time to let me know why privately. You and I disagree, too, but you are not so filled with hate that you make a fool out of yourself for the sake of bashing the president. Even H2O exhibited reasonable restraint and showed his distain for Bush with reason.

Unfortunately Twig does not share the class of most people who opposed the president's trip. His comments about how the president was killing young men so his friends who are already rich could get richer showed an extreme lack of class and a real ignorance. Ranting and raving and name calling started to spoil the intent of my topic so I deleted it.

Eddie maybe you could start a topic on Hillary's Thanksgiving trip to Afghanistan. Even Hillary praised the president before attacking him on why we are there. Even Hillary!

President Bush's surprise trip caught so many off guard that I felt it deserved a NFR topic even though I suspected it would degenerate into hate speech. Thankfully 99% of the threads were respectful.

Like you wouldn't have been all over anyone who posted a good job Hillary thread for visiting the troops in Afghanistan, which I did see you mention but of course had absolutely nothing positive to say about.

If you are going to post, expect people to reply. Expect that some people might even have the audacity to disagree (repectfully)with you or have an alternate opinion.

In return, judging empirically from the body of your work, I'll go ahead and expect you to suggest that anyone who does, especially anyone actually making a decent point 'eat shi*'.

Just for the record..I deleted my own topic..not because I can't take the inevitable barrage from those who got so nuts anytime President Bush's name is mentioned but because I respected our president for what he did on Thanksgiving day. I deleted my own topic because it turned into another opportunity for the usual suspecdts to spew their bile in the president's direction.....not in mine. Not respectful disagreement at all just hateful nonsense.
