Now that I re-read the article, I realize that whole intent of the boat buy-back is to benefit commercial fishermen, NOT the fish.

The government might mess with your quotas, say it aint so............ The comercial boys must have "some kind of clout". Even the feds have to pay them off.

Where are they going to sell these boats? Seems like 92 of these being pushed onto the marketplace would create a buying opportunity for a good sized fishing boat that could be converted to a cruiser or live-aboard.

knowing our government they will probably sell them to japan and turn them into mini long liners...
