Floated the Green yesterday. River is great shape and the day was wonderful but no steelhead.I have fished this river every fishable day since the middle of Nov. and caught 1 winter fish (released a few dark summers). After what was the best summer I've ever had on the Green I was in high hopes for a good return this winter fish but what a let down . Any body have anything good to report or am going to have to drive out of town this weekend to find fish.

I fished the green last week and found fish through most of the area bellow the park. Two hatchery one nate, all found behind groups of aold chums and the hatchery fish stuffed with chum eggs. All the fish took a 3" pink worm and corky.

Went up on Wensday. Only saw 1 fish (dark summer hen) caught by a women below the head works. Saw alot of old chums.

Awhile back there was a sweeper across the river up by the berry fields, and I wonder if that is still a problem to get the boat around or did it wash out with some of high water? I know the fishing could be better but might give it a try Fri. Any info would be nice------Thanks

Piper , I don't know if its dedication or stupidity but I live on the Green so every day as I walk out behind my house , I tell myself today is the day their going to show. And sometimes they do just ,not lately. Hardware, the sweaper is gone.

Its all about quality of experience, not quantity of fish, right...? Yeah, I have a hard time with that too.

I understand where you are coming from. I went to school at GRCC and spent my fair share of time between SR18 and flaming geyser... I never did pull a steelhead out but I sure had fun trying...

Now salmon fishing that is a whole different story... During the fall quarter I arranged my schedule so I had a couple hour break to wet a line... That was always enough time to hook a few.
