just purchased new 20' thunderjet 175 horse sport jet. Bought from buddy 2003 used 3 times. traded up from 16' alumaweld stryker. Never driven jet so i kinow will be learning curve. Any advice on piloting jet to advance the learning would be appreciated. Oh yeah I won't be running anything but mainstem Columbia until I can get more comfortable with it. Also, how do board members secure ur coolers on swim deck. Tks in advance

Bill, congrats on the new TJ. I purchased a new 19' luxor with a 350 Chev in Sept. Practice, practice, practice is the word of the day. You must be under power to have any control while steering. Pumping the throttle is our friend. It also takes getting used to steering just the opposite while in reverse. As far as mounting a cooler, there is a brace under the swim deck that runs parallel to the transom. I drilled through it parallel with the ground and used stainless eyebolts. I use ratcheting hold down straps with hooks on both ends, one end in the eyebolt and the other on the cooler handle. Enjoy

congrats on new sled, should give you lots of fun. my only advice is practice, practice, practice.to many sled owners that really should not be running them.have seen my share of mishaps from idiots that did not know how to use them. just my .2cents

Bill, congratulations on the new TJ. I have a 19' TJ with the Sportjet going on 4 years now and love it. Handles well at low speed and on plane, insulated the doghouse to make it that much quieter, it is great. I have a stompgrate on mine and attach my cooler to the pedal for the stompgrate which comes up through the swim deck. As is stated above, practice practice practice. When you are comfortable with it you'll have sooooooo much fun. Take care.
