I had heard that this is a bad year for the Nisqually....can anyone confirm or refute that? I really want to get my wife into a chum so she can battle a bigger fish. She is about a buck-ten soaking wet and loves a good fighting fish, I thought chummies might be fun. I flyfish and she would be using drift gear. Any suggestions/advice is more than welcome. Thanks in advance
Regards-
SB

Been checking it out every other day...Not alot of fish...Water running high too fly fish..Most guys I see are jigging the holes for fish..Hate that...I always go down there too cast a fly...I have heard it will be a bad return as well, but I fish it in Jan so don't give up on it yet...I have fished it into Feb some years...
Bottom line not alot of fish coming and and pay attention to the closing reports...They will close it in Jan if there is no return.

The run was forecast at 21,000 chum, which is way below average for the Nisqually.
Reports are a good run is in the Puyallup right now, so you might want to take your wife there.
