I was looking at the Furuno Radar for my 20ft Trophy Bayliner boat. I will plan to buy it for my boat this year.. but the display couldn't give me a real idea of how well it worked..I want to know what difference is between 1621, 1622 or new 1623 furuno radar ? Do the old furuno 1621 or 1622 radar still be good ? I would appreciate your comments..
I remembered Akkings said 1622 was so far better machine..
IF 1621 or 1622 model is same new 1623 furuno radar. I would buy the old furnuno radar from Ebay..
Thanks, Steven

DEAFisherman, The 3 units you mentioned are basically the same, 2.2kw, 16 mile radar units, Furuno's entry-level radar. The 1621 was replaced by the 1622 and last year (2003) the 1623 replaced the 1622. The 1623 had the same specs as the 1622 with a new keypad and $150 added to the price tag.
I think BW has them for $1150, it will be on sale for around $1000 at the boatshow.

Worth a look, and I've seriosly considered buying marine electronics here. It is a good place to compare products anyway.
